Hey welcome to the board. As far as I can see, since I don't know much about video cards, that the card was released in 99, and in 99 there weren't many games utilizing shaders. Sadly, this game really only uses a few shaders, and that could be causing you to get a video error. I haven't set it up to work with later model videocards, and the model for Jason is pretty high poly, which could cause you to need some more processing power. Have you played any other PC games, after around 2002 or 2003 that run just fine and are pretty heavy on on the machine? I do plan, to re-work the entire game to be less buggy, and work on lower end systems that don't support shaders at all. 256 ram may not be able to handle the game, as I've heard of others that had close to 500 that had problems. Mainly because of the way I set things up. So keep your head up, I may be able to get this thing running on lower end systems by rewriting the way it loads at certain points and starts bottlenecking during loads.

Weird, I'll look more into it, but if you can't get those going, this shouldn't crash.

Thanks, i am really wanting to play the game, so hopefully you can figure out what is happening It should run if you have at least 400 mb of ram. Looks like the only way you'll probably get it to run is to invest in another stick of ram at the moment. I'm looking more into this, because I have the nexus set pretty high at runtime, I may be able to lower it so check back in a few weeks.

I keep getting error message E1004, do you know anything about this It's an engine error message. Error E1004: Not enough memory A Windows memory allocation function failed. Your game attempted to allocate more virtual memory than available on your PC. All today's PCs should have enough virtual memory (about 1 GB), but old machines might be misconfigured or set up to a very low virtual memory size. The error message can also be caused by a too-high nexus value (exceeding the recommended limit of 200) or a model, sound or image file with a wrong size due to a damaged header. Same as the last guy, I'm looking into lowering the nexus size yet having the game boot up still. It's all got to do with what I've been doing with designing it badly. My second attempt at a 3d wasn't the best.

Camp blood, your going to have to update your graphics card, I'm pretty sure that has to be the problem. It isn't supported with the engine.
Bryan, somehow you've modified the games script, or moved a file somewhere it shouldn't be. Try either redownloading it, or reinstalling it from the original zip file.
Remember never change anything with files marked *.wdl. As the game will not run afterwards.
This is the exact error message from the manual which explains what could be the problem...
"Error E356: Problem with WDL script The script could not be executed. Either it contains a syntax error that is indicated and has to be fixed. Or it was not found in the current directory. Or it was modified after publishing."
Have fun playing it should work, let me know if after re downloading it doesn't work, I'll re download the file and check it out, as I've just uploaded a new version that has the multiplayer game working. Sadly no other bugs have been fixed as of yet.

Hi Havoc. The game looks fantastic, but I have a few errors. First off, I have an older demo of the game with at least 2 levels, labeled 'friday' (I claimed 'Friday3dtestlevel.cd' - I gave the wrong name in another topic) that works fine, but uses a completely different Jason, menus, has no costumes, or multiplayer or anything. I've downloaded the game from the site about 3 times but whenever I try to start I get: Now, this last question is also a bit of a suggestion. You showed off a Part 2 Jason in the F13-community topic, and I was curious if the Jason X (pre-Uber) or Freddy vs. Jason designs may be added in the future, and I was also curious if you've contemplated including Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger, as you've shown off pics of models of them there as well. Thanks - JVM
